Oxfordshire tennis fan, Josh Zahl was chosen as a mascot for this year’s ATP world tour final at the O2 – where he stepped out on to the court with eventual winner, Grigor Dimitrov.
Josh and his dad, Daniel, had been at the first round match on the previous Sunday when they donated £5 to Unicef and entered a raffle to win seats for the final and a chance to be one of the mascots.
On the Thursday they were contacted by the ATP to be told they had won. Josh, who plays regularly at North Oxford tennis club, asked if he could walk out with Dimitrov and took all the press attention in his stride. Dimitrov also signed Josh’s giant match ball after his victory.
