British Tennis aims to get more people playing tennis more often. In order to achieve this, it must ensure it is a safe and inclusive sport. We are seeking panel members for our Safeguarding and Protection Committee (SPC) to join the panel starting in 2019 for a tenure of between one and three years. The SPC comprises a suitably qualified individual as Chairperson of the SPC and a minimum of five and maximum of ten further persons. The Chairperson of the SPC will select a minimum of two members of SPC to sit on an adhoc basis as an SPC meeting either in person at the National Tennis Centre or via telephone. The SPC take decisions on safeguarding cases in British Tennis, ensuring a proportionate response to allegations of a safeguarding nature. We are also looking for individuals with knowledge of the sport of tennis, tennis coaching and it’s structures at national, county and club level to sit on the committee and offer advice and guidance in this area. This is a voluntary role and as such there is no remuneration, however travel expenses will be paid in line with our expenses policy.
