Want to recognize an outstanding individual, club or tennis venue in your network? In collaboration with the LTA, Tennis Oxforfshire is delighted to announce that nominations for the LTA Tennis Awards are now open.

Designed to recognise the extraordinary contribution of those who help to open the sport up to new audiences, the awards celebrate individuals and venues that make a difference in the local community – from the 25,000 volunteers, to the 4,400 coaches and almost 1,000 officials to over 20,000 schools, 2,700 clubs and over 9,700 LTA approved tournaments across the UK.

Launched in 2015, the awards are now in their fifth year, and Tennis Oxfordshire can nominate across one or more of the following categories:

• Volunteer of the Year Award
• Young Person of the Year Award
• Coach of the Year Award
• Club of the Year Award (£5,000 grant for winner)
• Community & Parks Award (£5,000 grant for winner)
• Education Award
• Disability Award
• Official of the Year Award
• Competition of the Year Award
• Lifetime Achievement

All nominations will go forward to the LTA’s judging panel, where county winners for each of the above categories will be selected. County winners will then progress to a regional shortlist, where a judging panel will select 70 regional winners from across England, Scotland & Wales. 30 outstanding individuals and venues will then be shortlisted as national finalists and be invited to the LTA Tennis Awards national ceremony in July 2020, where 10 overall winners will be crowned.

The LTA reward & recognise winners at each stage of the process as follows:
• County Winners: Certificate & cash or voucher prize (£25)
• Regional Winners: Tickets to LTA Major Event & on-court trophy presentation
• National Finalists: Invitation to LTA Tennis Awards National Ceremony at The Championships, Wimbledon & a pair of Centre Court tickets.

Speaking about the awards, LTA Deputy President David Rawlinson said: “The LTA Tennis Awards are a real celebration of the people that work at all levels of our sport, who are vital in growing the game. As the governing body for tennis in Britain, we can’t achieve our vision of opening up our sport without them, so I’d like to encourage as many people as possible to nominate an individual, club or venue that makes a real difference in their local community so we can recognise their achievements and thank them for all that they do.”

Nominations close on Saturday 30th November. County winners will then be announced between October 2019 and March 2020. Regional winners will be unveiled in April 2020 with a national ceremony to be held at The Championships, Wimbledon in July 2020.
