Junior County Training

County Training is the flagship training & development programme for junior players and coaches from across Oxfordshire. With the support of the LTA, it brings together the most able and aspiring young players – age 8 to 18 - to build team and individual skills, a deep sense of camaraderie and team spirit.

County Training strives to be best in class in the way it supports the wider aspiration of ‘tennis opened up’. Continuously improving the profile and performance of County teams, and motivating players and coaches from across the County to be actively involved. It is an integral part of the County’s junior player pathway which starts in schools, progresses to clubs and ultimately to County level tennis.

Tennis Oxforshire runs County Training and undertakes quarterly performance reviews to ensure the programme is meeting its aims and objectives. The on court (and associated off- court) programme is delivered by Tennis Oxfordshire’s County Training partner, Premier Tennis.

There are 10 County Training sessions per year taking place every month - with the exception of July and August. Player selections and invitation to attend County Training are sent out twice year - covering the September-December and January-June sessions.

All sessions will take place on a Sunday at the White Horse Tennis Centre in Abingdon.
