Job Description 

Watlington Tennis Club has an exciting opportunity for an experienced level 3 or 4 coach with a minimum of 15 hours per week to take over our coaching programme. The programme will include a mixture of Junior Groups, Holiday Camps, Open Days, Adult Group Coaching ranging from beginners to match teams as well as the ability to run individual lessons. There will be a particular focus on building out our junior coaching programme and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to build their own bespoke programme in consultation with the Club Committee. 

Venue Overview 

Watlington Tennis Club is a friendly club in the beautiful town of Watlington in South Oxfordshire boasting three all-weather courts, two of which are floodlit (being updated to LED lights this summer) with planning permission granted to add lighting to the third court this autumn, a small but welcoming clubhouse and good parking outside the courts. The club has 300 members of all abilities and ages with approximately 100 junior members. For competitive players, we participate in the Oxfordshire Summer and Winter Leagues with two men’s teams, two Ladies’ teams and one mixed team. Person Specification 

Watlington Tennis Club is looking for an enthusiastic coach who can demonstrate a passion for coaching players of all ages and abilities and be comfortable taking charge of any kind of lesson at the club. The person should be comfortable in developing the coaching programme at the club in partnership with the Committee.

We are seeking an Assistant Tennis Coach to support the delivery of our Tennis programme. The purpose of the role is to primarily deliver individual and pairs Tennis coaching during Games afternoons to pupils of all ages at the Senior School and to run Saturday morning Tennis for the Prep School.

The successful candidate will be confident in their knowledge of Tennis, appropriately qualified and capable of delivering high quality professional Tennis lessons to pupils of all ages and standards.
